Matcutting & Framing Workshop

I give a one day, six hour (10 to 4), workshop on matcutting and framing with time out for a "bring your own lunch."  The workshops are given in my home-based framing shop in Morris County, New Jersey.  The minimum number of students is four and the maximum is six. Workshops are scheduled as needed, when requests are received.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

• Cutting single and double mats

• Mounting photos and art for matting

• Choosing appropriate mat colors and frames

• Assembling and putting the work into metal and wooden frames

   

• Information about matboards, backing, glazing, framing tools, and ways to save money on framing.

   

COST AND MATERIALS

The use of most materials (matcutter, mat board, etc.) is included in the price.  A few materials are required but they are readily available from home.  The per person cost is $75.

OFF SITE WORKSHOPS

Workshops can be scheduled, off site, at your facility.  The minimum number of students is six and the maximum is ten.  Driving time is usually limited to 40 minutes from my home.  Cost and content are the same as above.

DEMONSTRATIONS

Demonstrations are offered for clubs and organizations at their meeting places.  The same topics are covered but in a condensed form.  Running time for the demo is about one and a half hours.  Time can be shortened  or expanded as needed.  Travel is usually limited to 40 minutes from my home.  Cost is $150.

Jean has been a home-bases framer since 1991.  She, herself, has worked extensively in needlework, photography and many different art media.  With this knowledge, she is adept at helping artists learn how to frame their own work.1991.  She is experienced in framing art and eedlework and is knowledgeable about various as
